Re "nothing surprises me"...we are living in an age of "nothing surprises me." Actually, laser beams were introduced as a concept via Star Trek to my generation some years back. I assumed it was all possible. NORAD was also on my radar years ago as a dept of interest. DARPA was where it all went weird for me.

Pretty much... Yup. I'm starting to imagine DEW shielding tech. Time to go underground and develop teams who are adept with counter tech.
