Yes indeed. And I am of an age where I recall when RS was considered 'anti-establishment!' One of my fave journalists and tall-tale conjurers--HST--was a frequent contributor to the mag. Somewhere along the way RS (Jann Wenner) was co-opted by the clowns in Langley. The idea of a genuine free press was lost while the internet of things was evolving right beneath our noses. As a footnote--while attending the ABA Show at the Javits Ctr in NYC (sometime at the end of the 80's as I recall) I witnessed a very large(expensive) booth(more like 8 booths taking up a huge amount of space) with the name: GOOGLE. My reaction? ...WTF is GOOGLE!? I walked around, got a free book bag and a button and thought little of the enterprise. Amazing what goes on all around us as we go with the flow...thx for the comment.
I had to comment before actually reading the post.
Rolling Stone has become the very people they used to warn me about in the 70’s. And there’s so many more than that.
